Helpful hints for choosing a Sydney real estate plumber
If you’re a rental property manager, you know how important it is to have a reliable and trustworthy plumber you can call on. In this post, we’ll take a look at how to choose a Sydney real estate plumber.
Fully licenced and insured
One of the most important things you should do when searching for a real estate plumber – or any tradesperson – is check that they are fully licenced and insured. In NSW, you can use the Service NSW portal to quickly and easily check licence details online. This makes it easy to check that your chosen plumber is licenced for the work you need completed. For property managers, that’s an easily avoided risk with some simple due diligence.
Jahli Plumbing’s owner Julian Edwards is a licenced drainer, gasfitter, LP gasfitter, plumber and kitchen/bathroom/laundry renovator.
Insurance is also vital. Check that your chosen contractor has public liability insurance and make sure that the amount is adequate. The Service NSW portal will also allow you to check if your chosen tradesperson has previously had insurance claims paid against them.
Reliable and punctual
As a rental property manager, it’s not usually you who has to take a day off work and sit around waiting for the plumber to show up – it’s your customers. And your customers want the plumber you use to be reliable and punctual so that they can get on with their day. We’ll keep both you and the residents fully up-to-date with timely communication should there be any unexpected delays to when we will be arriving.
When choosing a Sydney real estate plumber, it’s also worth checking references to see what the call-back rate is like with work needing to be rectified due to poor quality.
At Jahli Plumbing, we pride ourselves on being on-time and doing the job right the first time. Among our strata and property management clients, we’re proud to say that we’ve not had one call-back for unsatisfactory work. And if we did get called back, we certainly wouldn’t charge you again.
Jahli Plumbing operates a paperless business. As soon as the job is complete, we’ll email you the invoice so that you can allocate it to your property owner straight away. There’s no waiting for a plumber to drop in a handwritten invoice that you struggle to read or that gets lost. We’ve streamlined our processes to make it easier for you.
We can also provide full electronic documentation, including marked up digital photos, of work that’s been completed so that you can provide reports to the property owner. This is especially valuable if a simple maintenance job turns out to reveal a more serious and expensive problem that may not have been anticipated by the property owner. We’re happy to show you what work was undertaken and provide an explanation of why.
